Each case study must cover a complete dog training case. For Each case study, you must evidence your practical skills through written paperwork and videos of you working with the handler and their dog or just the dog where relevant.

The included case study guidance and assessor criteria will assist and inform you of the standards required for your case study evidence. When gathering your evidence for formal assessment, you must follow the case study guidance and incorporate as much of your theoretical learning and practical skills as possible into each study.

When you are ready to submit your case study evidence, your work will be reviewed. by 2 NICE assessors , and feedback provided within fourteen working days.

Members who have successfully covered the practical skills criteria will be invited to join NICE as a full member at level four. Full membership includes placement on the ABTC register as an approved dog training instructor.

In the event that case studies do not meet the specified criteria, a formal interview may take place you may be asked to provide evidence for the missing criteria.

The pass mark for case studies is 60%. If your case studies do not meet this threshold you will be required to begin the application process again.
